Oppo recently released a new affordable 5G smartphone – the Oppo A56 5G. Here’s an overview of the key specs and features of this budget-friendly 5G device.

Design and Display
The Oppo A56 5G has a plastic body that feels solid yet lightweight at 189.5g. It features a 6.5-inch LCD screen with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The screen occupies 82.4% of the front and has a waterdrop-style notch for the front camera. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 provides basic screen protection.

Hardware and Performance
Under the hood is MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 5G chipset paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM depending on the storage variant. This provides decent enough performance for daily tasks and light gaming. The internal storage is 128GB with the option to expand via a microSD card. Powering the device is a 5000mAh battery with support for 10W charging.

Cameras
There is a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 13MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor for photography. Features include LED flash, HDR, and the ability to record 1080p video at 30fps. Selfies are handled by an 8MP front-facing camera.

Connectivity and Software
5G connectivity is the highlight, alongside 4G LTE, dual-SIM support, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1 and GPS/GLONASS. Unfortunately, there is no NFC or 3.5mm headphone jack. The device runs Android 11 out of the box under Oppo’s ColorOS 11.1 skin.

Pricing and Availability
The Oppo A56 5G is priced at around 384,468 Naira and comes in Black, Blue and Violet colors. It seems like a decent affordable 5G option for basic usage if you can overlook the low screen resolution and lack of NFC/headphone jack. Performance and battery life should be adequate for most users.
