Oppo has released its latest flagship foldable, the Find N3 Flip, and it looks to be a compelling upgrade over the previous generation. I got a chance to go hands-on with this new foldable, and here are my impressions:

Design and Display
The Find N3 Flip maintains the compact, vertical folding design of its predecessor, but with some refinements. The hinge has been improved for even smoother folding action. When unfolded, it reveals a large 6.8-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and incredibly bright 1600 nit peak brightness. The cover outer display is now 3.26 inches.

The overall footprint remains very pocketable when folded. Build quality feels premium with an aluminum frame and glass back panel. An IPX4 rating provides basic splash resistance as well.

Performance and Software
Powering the Find N3 Flip is the latest flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9200 chipset built on a 4nm process. This is paired with up to 12GB RAM and blazing-fast UFS 4.0 storage up to 512GB. Oppo’s ColorOS 14 based on Android 13 runs smooth as butter, with an upgrade to Android 14 coming.

Cameras
Oppo upgraded the camera system with a new 50MP main camera backed by a 32MP 2x telephoto lens and a 48MP ultra-wide lens. We’ll have to see how it performs in real-world tests, but on paper this triple camera setup looks very capable. For selfies, there’s a 32MP punch-hole shooter.

The camera app packs plenty of features like enhanced night mode, video HDR, 4K recording at 60fps, and more.

Battery Life and Charging
The 4,300mAh battery should provide all-day endurance between charges. When you do need to top up, Oppo’s 44W SuperVOOC wired charging can get you to 50% battery in just 23 minutes.

Early Thoughts
The Oppo Find N3 Flip looks to be a very compelling foldable, boosting performance, cameras and charging speeds over the last generation. The compact folding design gives it a distinct advantage in portability too.

Of course, pricing is quite premium at #771,450 for the base 256GB model. We’ll have to see how it stacks up against rivals like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 and others in real-world use. But Oppo seems to be onto another winner in the foldable category.
